Pune based Electra EV, a startup in the domain of developing EV powertrain solutions, build a customised electric car for its founder Ratan Tata, in the iconic Nano model of TATA motors. In its LinkedIn page, Electra EV wrote this as a "Moment of Truth".
Bringing a much-awaited transformation of Tata Motors and Ratan Tata’s common man's 4 wheeler, Tata Nano now has got a technological makeshift. Thanks to Pune based EV Startup, Electra EV who has built a custom EV for their founder, Chairman Emeritus of Tata Group, Ratan Tata. Mr Tata is also the founder of the EV startup, manufacturing EV Powertrains for Electric Vehicles.
In its LinkedIn post, Electra EV informed delivering the Nano Electric EV to Ratan Tata, called it a Moment of Truth. Ratan Tata along with his executive assistant took a ride in the 75V EV. Electra EV is looking forward to the insights from their founder about the transition the compact car made going Electric. Nano EV was built by Electra EV, having a predicted range of up to 160 km and an acceleration of 0-60 kph in less than 10 seconds, and is powered by super polymer lithium-ion batteries.
Tata Nano which was expected to transform the affordability of a four-wheeler for the Indian middle-class family shut down its production due to various reasons. From its initial manufacturing operations getting stalled with a major investment going into the facility at Singur, West Bengal the project was facing challenges that eventually got stopped before the desired success journey.
During the last couple of years, there were expectations of Tata Nano transformed into an Electric Compact Car. Now the same is a reality thanks to ELECTRA EV, which are making steady growth in their journey of offering EV Powertrains to TATA as well as to other automotive OEMs. Need to wait and watch how this project is going to become commercial viability, making Tata Nano EV an affordable Electric Car in the country.
