Tata Motors has introduced its first Euro VI-compliant bus in the Middle East, launching the LPO 1622 model in Qatar through its official distributor, Al Hamad Automobiles. The vehicle, aimed at the staff transport segment, was officially revealed at a ceremony in Doha.
The LPO 1622 is powered by a Cummins ISBe 5.6L engine, delivering 220 horsepower and 925Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between two seating layouts, offering capacity for 61 or 65 passengers. Key safety features include dual-circuit air brakes with ABS, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, and Cruise Control, meeting international standards for commercial vehicle safety.
Asif Shamim, who heads International Business for Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, stated that the Middle East remains a high-priority region for the company. “Qatar is a key market where we aim to provide efficient and reliable mobility solutions. This launch reflects our commitment to bringing cleaner, modern vehicles to the region,” he said.
