Tata Motors has revealed its 10th Annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report, detailing its efforts to positively impact over one million lives in FY24. Titled “Building Together a Million Dreams,” the report underscores the role of partnerships in achieving these outcomes, with more than 40% of beneficiaries from the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) communities. The company’s CSR efforts reached 94 aspirational districts across 26 states and 8 union territories.

Vinod Kulkarni, Tata Motors’ Head of CSR, highlighted the company’s resource-optimizing strategy, “More for Less for More,” which helped scale programs and broaden its social impact. The company has remained dedicated to tackling key challenges in education, health, employability, and environmental sustainability through collaboration with government, non-government, and private sector partners.

Tata Motors, in partnership with the NAAM Foundation, MGNREGA, and the Government of Maharashtra, rejuvenated 106 water bodies under the Amrit Sarovar Mission. This increased water storage capacity by 1,860 million liters, benefiting agricultural productivity and enhancing access to potable water. The company’s Integrated Village Development Programme (IVDP) also contributed to rural development by reducing migration and increasing household incomes in areas like Jawahar, Pune, and Ahmedabad.

In terms of environmental sustainability, Tata Motors made strides by planting 1.7 million saplings in Palghar and launching an Urban Forestry initiative in Pune that planted 125,000 trees. The company also expanded its education efforts through the ENABLE program, which coached over 550 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas students for JEE and NEET exams, and the Learn, Earn and Progress (LEAP) program, which trained 1,500 youth annually in auto trade skills.

Additionally, Tata Motors supported tribal families in Pune by helping them commercialize hirda berry production, generating significant revenue for over 5,000 families. The company also expanded its health initiatives, including a Malnutrition Treatment Centre in Jamshedpur and new health programs in Uttarakhand. With a record 59% employee participation, Tata Motors volunteers contributed 117,000 hours to community projects, reflecting the company’s ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility.
