Tata Motors in a media communication announced that they are entering into a long-term partnership with Lithium Urban Technologies, India's largest EV fleet provider. As per the agreement, Lithium Urban will procure 400 units of recently launched Tata Tigor EV by the end of this financial year and the remaining 100 units will be supplied s later that will include Tata Nexon EV, with its launch scheduled in 2020.
The Tigor EV was recently launched with an extended range of 213 km. Large battery packs and high range are the technical advancements in the newly launched Tiogor EV first electric car from Tata to be made available to private buyers. "Our vision to complete a journey of up to 1 billion electric kilometers in the coming three years", said Vikash Mishra, Head of External Relations, Lithium Urban Technologies to Machine Maker.

At present, Lithium Urban Technology is mainly catering to the corporate sector in eight cities and is planning to expand to more cities adding more EVs to their fleet. Their future plans also include providing intercity transportation services to corporate and private players.
Recently, Lithium Urban has also partnered with Indian software giant Wipro to expand its fleet of EVs for transporting its employees across its offices in India. Commenting on this Mr. Mishra said "We are in talks with major corporations to supply our fleet and are gaining traction. We can expect the majority of them to use or fleet in the coming years".
