Tata Electronics and BEL Sign MoU to Strengthen India’s Semiconductor and Electronics Sector

Tata Electronics and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly advance semiconductor and high-tech electronics solutions, contributing to India’s self-reliance goals in the sector. The agreement was formalized on June 5 at Tata Group’s headquarters in Mumbai, with Dr Randhir Thakur, CEO and MD of Tata Electronics, and Manoj Jain, CMD of BEL, representing both companies. BEL, a leading defense PSU, specializes in the design and manufacturing of cutting-edge electronics for both strategic and civilian applications.

Under the agreement, Tata Electronics and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) will work together to identify potential areas of collaboration in semiconductor fabrication (Fab), outsourced semiconductor assembly and testing (OSAT), and design services offered by Tata Electronics. The focus will be on meeting BEL’s current and future needs, including components such as microcontrollers (MCUs), systems-on-chip (SoCs), monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs), and other processors. Additionally, both companies will aim to develop efficient manufacturing solutions for BEL’s products by sharing expertise, adopting best practices, and leveraging available resources.
