TACC Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCB), marking a significant step toward the development of sustainable, durable, and high-performance concrete utilizing TACC’s graphene-based additives. Graphene, a single layer of carbon atoms arranged in a hexagonal structure, is renowned for its superior strength, conductivity, and lightness. It has a wide range of applications, including in electronics, energy storage, coatings, composites, construction materials, and textiles.

This collaboration between TACC Limited and the National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCB) seeks to integrate TACC’s advanced graphene additives with NCB’s expertise in concrete technology. The goal is to leverage graphene’s exceptional properties—such as its strength, durability, and lightweight nature—to enhance the performance of concrete, making it stronger and more resilient.

In addition to improving concrete’s structural integrity, the partnership also aims to support India’s climate objectives. By incorporating graphene into construction materials, the collaboration intends to reduce carbon emissions in the sector, contributing to India’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions. This initiative marks a significant step towards more sustainable and eco-friendly building practices.

This joint effort is poised to drive the next generation of construction materials, paving the way for the development of sustainable, high-performance infrastructure. TACC Limited, an innovative venture of the LNJ Bhilwara Group, is a key player in the advanced materials industry, specializing in synthetic graphite and graphene derivatives. With a strong focus on green technologies and sustainability, TACC is at the forefront of graphene research and its broad industrial applications.

The National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCB) is a leading research organization under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It is dedicated to technology development, knowledge transfer, and continuing education within the cement and construction industries. NCB plays a critical role in enhancing the quality of cement and concrete while promoting sustainability across the sector.
