SWITCH Mobility, a leading global manufacturer of electric buses and light commercial vehicles, has officially deployed 100 customized electric waste management vehicles, the SWITCH IeV3, for the Indore Municipal Corporation. This initiative strengthens Indore’s position as India’s cleanest city while reaffirming its dedication to sustainable urban development.

The handover ceremony, attended by Kailash Vijayvargiya, Minister of Urban Development and Housing, and Pushyamitra Bhargav, Mayor of Indore, highlighted the pivotal role of SWITCH Mobility in advancing the city’s environmental initiatives. The newly introduced electric garbage trucks will replace traditional diesel-powered vehicles, significantly reducing carbon emissions, cutting down on noise pollution, and improving operational efficiency. The SWITCH IeV3 is designed to effectively handle both wet and dry waste collection.

Mahesh Babu, CEO of SWITCH Mobility, commented, “We are excited to be part of Indore’s journey toward a greener, cleaner future. Indore has set the bar for cleanliness in India, and we are proud to contribute to maintaining and enhancing this standard. With our SWITCH IeV3 vehicles and the innovative SWITCH iON connected mobility platform, we aim to provide sustainable solutions that help cities flourish in a cleaner environment.”

The SWITCH IeV3 is tailored to meet the needs of urban municipal operations, prioritizing sustainability, reliability, and operational efficiency. Integrated with the SWITCH iON platform, which offers real-time vehicle monitoring, predictive maintenance, route optimization, and improved uptime, these electric vehicles ensure maximum effectiveness in supporting Indore’s waste management efforts.

The introduction of these 100 electric waste management vehicles represents another milestone in Indore’s roadmap to cleaner mobility, reinforcing the city’s commitment to retaining its title as India’s Cleanest City while setting a new standard for sustainable urban living.
