Swaraj Tractors, a division of the Mahindra Group, has partnered with Mahindra Susten, the Group’s clean-tech arm, to launch Punjab’s largest solar group captive project. This 26 MW solar power plant, located in Bathinda district, marks a major leap towards Swaraj Tractors’ goal of meeting up to 50% of its energy needs from renewable sources.
Developed by Mahindra Susten, the solar project will power four Swaraj Tractor manufacturing plants in Mohali and Dera Bassi. Expected to generate around 60 million kWh of clean energy annually, the project will help reduce approximately 54,600 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year. This initiative underscores Mahindra Group’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and climate action while setting a new standard for green energy use in the tractor manufacturing industry.
