Suzlon has secured an additional 204.75 MW wind energy order from Jindal Green Wind 1 Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Jindal Renewables, further advancing the Low CO2 Steel initiative in India. This new deal makes Suzlon’s collaboration with Jindal Renewables its largest Commercial & Industrial (C&I) order to date, bringing the total capacity to 907.20 MW. Previously, Suzlon had secured two significant orders to power Jindal Steel’s plants in Chhattisgarh and Odisha, totaling 702.45 MW of wind energy. C&I customers now represent 59% of Suzlon’s order book, which has reached an all-time high of 5.9 GW.

Under this new contract, Suzlon will supply 65 advanced S144 wind turbine generators (WTGs) equipped with Hybrid Lattice Towers (HLT), each with a capacity of 3.15 MW. The energy generated will be used to meet the power needs of steel plants in Chhattisgarh and Odisha, supporting the plants’ operational sustainability and contributing to India’s clean energy transition.

Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, commented, “We are proud to drive India’s steel sector decarbonization forward by strengthening our partnership with Jindal Renewables. Building on our earlier success in Karnataka, we are now expanding the Low CO2 Steel initiative to Tamil Nadu, a leader in wind energy. Together, we are reshaping the future of sustainable industrial growth in India.”

Bharat Saxena, President of Jindal Renewables, said, “Jindal Renewables is dedicated to leading the decarbonization of India’s steel industry. This third order with Suzlon showcases our commitment to sustainable practices and our goal of becoming the largest provider of decarbonization solutions.”
