Sunrakshakk Industries India Ltd has commenced commercial operations at its new FMCG manufacturing facility in Guwahati, Assam, marking an important step in the company’s expansion into fast-moving consumer goods and FMCG intermediates. The new unit strengthens Sunrakshakk’s manufacturing footprint and supports its strategy to build a diversified, pan-India FMCG platform.
The Guwahati facility has an installed capacity of 2,160 metric tonnes per month for soap noodles and 1,000 metric tonnes per month for cosmetic products. With this addition, Sunrakshakk now operates FMCG manufacturing units in Guwahati, Bhilwara, and Roorkee, creating a multi-location production network that enables operational flexibility and supply chain efficiencies.
The expanded manufacturing base is expected to support improved production planning, optimized logistics, and better utilization of resources across facilities. By spreading capacity across multiple regions, the company aims to reduce delivery timelines, manage costs more effectively, and respond efficiently to customer demand across markets.
Sunrakshakk’s FMCG expansion aligns with its medium-term growth roadmap, which focuses on capacity expansion, product diversification, and wider geographic reach. The company is steadily scaling operations in personal care, home care, FMCG intermediates, and edible categories, supported by investments in infrastructure and manufacturing capabilities. These initiatives are expected to improve operating leverage and provide better revenue visibility as capacity utilization increases.
Commenting on the development, Saurabh Chhabra, Promoter and Director of Sunrakshakk Industries India Ltd, said the commissioning of the Guwahati plant enhances the company’s manufacturing ecosystem and strengthens its pan-India presence. He added that the integrated network of facilities positions the company to scale its FMCG operations while maintaining efficiency and consistency in production.
Sunrakshakk Industries India Ltd, formerly known as AK Spintex Limited, has a long-standing presence in textile manufacturing and has, in recent years, diversified into FMCG and FMCG intermediate chemicals. With manufacturing units across Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Assam, the company operates an integrated platform spanning textiles, consumer products, intermediates, and food categories. Sunrakshakk continues to focus on building a scalable and sustainable business with the objective of achieving revenues of approximately ₹1,000 crore by FY28.
