Sunkind Energy Secures 20 MW Solar Projects in Punjab and Maharashtra

Sunkind Energy, a clean energy company, announced on Monday that it has secured new solar power projects totaling approximately 20 megawatts (MW). The contracts have been awarded by Nahar Group and Jindal Group, according to a company statement.

For Nahar Group, Sunkind Energy will establish a 7.3 MW solar capacity in Ludhiana, Punjab, intended for captive purposes. Additionally, the company will set up a 19.6 MW captive solar project for Jindal Group in Nashik, Maharashtra.

Both projects will be executed in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) mode, with completion targeted by September 2024, as stated by Sunkind Energy founder and CEO Hanish Gupta. The company did not disclose the financial details of the projects. However, industry estimates suggest that 1 MW of solar projects typically requires an investment of around Rs 5-7 crore, including land costs.
