Mastercam, CAD/CAM software developed by CNC Software, Inc., is sponsoring a competition with an objective to encourage students and professionals who are active in manufacturing. This competition is titled ‘the 2020 Masters of CAM Wildest Parts Competition.’
Participants are expected to use Mastercam and generate a bold, original item leveraging their imaginative design and exciting machining. They must come up with a high-quality component that hasn’t been created before wherein there is an addition to an existing concept.
Mastercam sponsors and supports numerous competitions to give students and professionals opportunities to learn skills and earn prizes using CAD/CAM.
Last year we received a lot of amazing and creative parts from students and professionals around the world.

For example, Riley Traver from Van Buren Tech in Lawrence, MI, was the winner in our Secondary division with a Sprinting Spike Base Plate, and Colin May from Erie Community College in Williamsville, NY made an Engine Block for our Postsecondary division. The parts that they submitted blew our minds, and we look forward to seeing what entries are submitted this coming year!
The last date for accepting entries is June 30, 2020, and there are four divisions.
Professional (1st, 2nd, 3rd) – open to anyone with professional manufacturing experience.Teams (1st, 2nd, 3rd) – open to groups of students at any level of education. Postsecondary (1st, 2nd, 3rd) – open to individual students at the college/university level of education. Secondary (1st, 2nd, 3rd) – open to individual students at the high school level of education.
Mere participation will result in the procurement of a Mastercam T-shirt. Other prizes are Winning entries receive cash, $3,000 for the first place, $1,500 for the second place, $500 for the third place, certificates of achievement and more
