STT Global Data Centres India Pvt Ltd has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Telangana government to develop a cutting-edge data centre campus in the Meerkhanpet, Mucherla area, with an investment of Rs 3,500 crore. The agreement was signed in Singapore, with the presence of Telangana Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, Bruno Lopez, Group CEO of ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC), and other senior officials.
This new facility will be AI-ready, incorporating the latest technologies, and will have an initial target capacity of up to 100 MW, with significant room for future expansion. Once completed, it is expected to become one of the largest data centre projects in India.
This development further emphasizes STT GDC India’s role in supporting India’s digital transformation, while boosting Telangana’s reputation as a leading destination for global tech infrastructure. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed his excitement, stating, “I congratulate STT Global for their decision. Hyderabad is on track to become the hub for data centres.”

This expansion is part of STT GDC India’s broader vision to achieve a design capacity of 1 GW across the country within the next decade, with an estimated investment of USD 3.2 billion. The company currently operates a data centre in HITEC City, Hyderabad, and the new campus will further strengthen its footprint in the region.
