STL a key player in optical and digital network solutions, released its financial results for the quarter ending 30 June 2025. The company posted revenue of ₹1,019 crore for Q1 FY26, marking a 17% year-on-year increase. EBITDA surged by 94% YoY to ₹140 crore, showcasing significant operational efficiency.
In a rapidly evolving market environment, STL maintained its focus on product advancement and cost optimization. Strengthening its presence across the US, Europe, and India, STL recorded an open order book of ₹4,888 crore, with fresh order inflow of ₹1,529 crore in this quarter alone.
The Optical Networking segment led the performance with an 18.6% rise in revenue and a 55.7% jump in EBITDA compared to Q1 FY25. The business continues to partner closely with clients to deliver complete connectivity solutions. The Optical Connectivity (OC) segment showed strong traction with an attach rate of approximately 23%. STL also recorded ~23% of its Q1 revenue from the Enterprise and Data Centre segment. With the rise of AI-driven demand, STL has broadened its Data Centre offerings with new fibre and copper cabling products designed for high-speed, low-latency performance and scalable infrastructure.
STL Digital added four new clients in Q1, bringing the total to 30 international customers. Key deals include multi-million, long-term contracts with three major private healthcare firms for digital marketing services, and another high-value engagement with a global communications equipment provider to support network transformation.
In the first quarter of FY26, STL achieved several significant milestones, beginning with key business wins. The company secured a three-year Long-Term Supply Agreement for its Intelligently-Bonded Ribbon (IBR) cable with a leading European telecom provider, reinforcing its global presence. Additionally, STL received major Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) orders from a returning customer in the United States and partnered with Swoop to deliver high-speed FTTH connectivity to around 1,000 homes in Western Australia, further expanding its footprint in international markets.
On the innovation front, STL demonstrated clear global leadership by becoming the first in the world to deploy Multi-Core Fiber (MCF) in both aerial and underground network environments. The company also collaborated with C-DOT to successfully execute India’s first Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) transmission over a 100 km, 4-core MCF link. In partnership with IIT Madras, STL tested a live 5+ km MCF cable deployment. These achievements highlight STL’s focus on next-generation network technologies and its stronghold in global standard-setting, with a growing portfolio of 740 patents.
STL’s industry leadership has been widely recognized. The company was honoured by TEPC at Bharat Telecom 2025 under the category ‘Telecom Products – Large Enterprises’ for its contributions to Indian-made technology exports. Moreover, STL’s innovative fibre optic sensing solution, Sensron, won the ET Telecom Award for “Impactful IoT Innovation of the Year”, underlining its commitment to cutting-edge, application-driven solutions.
In its journey towards sustainability, STL marked a significant step by launching Maharashtra’s first green hydrogen and oxygen production facility dedicated to optical fibre manufacturing. This makes STL one of the few companies globally to adopt 100% green hydrogen in fibre production.
This initiative supports the company’s broader environmental goals and brings it closer to achieving its Net Zero emissions target by 2030. These achievements underscore STL’s unwavering focus on innovation, global growth, sustainability, and industry leadership, positioning it strongly for continued success in the evolving digital infrastructure landscape.
Managing Director Ankit Agarwal stated, “With strong partnerships and ongoing innovation, STL is shaping the future of digital infrastructure. Our expanded Data Centre offerings and pioneering work in multi-core fibre technology are aligned with rising global demand for faster, secure, and scalable connectivity. We are committed to building the networks that power tomorrow’s digital world.”
