Antonio Filosa, Chief Executive Officer, Stellantis

Stellantis NV has announced that Antonio Filosa, a seasoned executive with over 25 years of experience at the company, will take the reins as the new Chief Executive Officer. The appointment follows a thorough search process conducted by a Special Committee of the Board, led by Executive Chairman John Elkann.

Filosa will be formally elected to the Board as an executive director during an Extraordinary Shareholder Meeting scheduled in the coming days. To ensure a smooth transition, the Board has granted him CEO powers starting June 23.

The decision to promote Filosa was based on his outstanding leadership and hands-on experience across multiple regions. Having led Stellantis’ operations in both North and South America, he has been instrumental in driving growth for key brands, including FIAT, Jeep®, Peugeot, and Ram. His leadership helped elevate Stellantis’ market position in Latin America, particularly through the successful development of the Pernambuco plant, which became a major automotive hub in South America and boosted Jeep®’s growth in Brazil.

Filosa’s tenure as Jeep® CEO was marked by a significant global expansion of the brand, including success in Europe, where models like the Jeep Avenger have been top sellers. In his most recent role as Chief Operating Officer of the Americas, Filosa focused on improving operations in the U.S. by reducing dealer inventory, reorganizing the leadership team, and streamlining product and powertrain introductions.

John Elkann, who will continue as Executive Chairman, expressed confidence in Filosa’s ability to lead Stellantis into its next phase of growth. “Antonio’s deep understanding of our company and industry, along with his ability to lead through complex challenges, makes him the perfect fit for this pivotal moment in Stellantis’ journey,” said Elkann.

Robert Peugeot, Vice Chairman of Stellantis, echoed this sentiment, praising Filosa’s extensive track record and leadership qualities. “His vast experience and knowledge make him the natural choice to guide Stellantis forward.”

Nicolas Dufourcq, CEO of BanquePubliqued’Investissement (Bpifrance), also voiced support for Filosa’s appointment, emphasizing the transformative nature of the automotive industry. “At a time of change, Antonio has the expertise to lead Stellantis to even greater success,” said Dufourcq.

Filosa himself expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him by the Board. “I am honored to lead Stellantis and look forward to building on the legacy of innovation and excellence that defines this company,” he said. “Our brands have a rich history, and I’m excited to continue delivering products and services that delight our customers.”
