Statcon Energiaa, a leading Indian manufacturer of critical power electronics, has signed an exclusive license-and-supply agreement with Germany’s AEG Power Solutions to develop rectifier systems for MW-scale green hydrogen production. These systems will power electrolyzers and be manufactured in India using AEG PS’s proven components, including printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA), insulated gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs), and thyristors.

The rectifiers will be designed to suit a range of MW-scale specifications with varied DC voltage and current outputs tailored to customer needs. IGBT-based designs will enable high efficiency, reduced harmonic distortion, and compatibility with both PEM and alkaline electrolyzers. Engineered for local operating conditions, the systems will ensure high-quality AC input and low ripple DC output—critical for optimal hydrogen generation. Statcon Energiaa will provide complete lifecycle support, from production to after-sales service, for projects across the Indian subcontinent.

Manoj Pande, Managing Director of Statcon Energiaa, said, “This partnership strengthens our ability to meet the needs of India’s fast-growing green hydrogen sector. Combining AEG PS’s proven designs with our local manufacturing expertise will help developers and EPCs achieve large-scale efficiency while building the supply chain domestically.”

The alliance also expands Statcon Energiaa’s market opportunities and technical capabilities. For AEG PS, it marks a strategic step to scale its technology in one of Asia’s fastest-growing hydrogen markets. Jörg Liedloff, Vice President–Energy Transition at AEG PS, described it as a “significant milestone in advancing the global energy transition,” while Marc-André Micke, Global Sales Director–Energy Transition, said the collaboration reflects their “commitment to innovation and growth in the green hydrogen sector.”
