Star Cement Ltd has announced plans to establish a cement clinker and grinding facility in Assam with an investment of Rs 3,200 crore. The company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state government on the final day of the Advantage Assam business summit, as stated by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
In addition, an MoU was also signed between the state government and Matheson Hydrogen Lvt Ltd, which intends to set up a hydrogen and steam generation plant worth Rs 1,500 crore. The state government further finalized a Rs 500-crore MoU with Global Health Ltd and signed two non-financial agreements with ITE Education Service.
Sarma expressed his appreciation to the companies for their investments and mentioned that more agreements would be finalized throughout the day. On the first day of the ‘Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025’ on Tuesday, a total of 164 MoUs were signed with companies across 15 sectors.
