STAN, India’s prominent mobile-focused social gaming platform, announced that the Sony Innovation Fund—the corporate venture capital arm of Sony Group Corporation known for supporting cutting-edge ventures in entertainment, gaming, and technology—has joined its ongoing Series A funding round. Hyderabad Angels Fund (HAF VC) has also participated in this round.
The involvement of Sony Innovation Fund marks a significant step forward for STAN, strengthening its global standing and adding strategic depth to its ambition of building a next-generation social ecosystem for gaming creators and communities. This new investment follows earlier backing from Google’s AI Futures Fund, Bandai Namco Entertainment, Square Enix, and General Catalyst, reaffirming STAN’s rapid rise as one of India’s fastest-expanding companies in the social gaming space.
Kazuhito Hadano, Chief Executive Officer of Sony Ventures Corporation, said, “We believe the evolution of gaming extends beyond engaging titles and sophisticated mechanics. The real shift lies in building vibrant ecosystems where creators, players, and developers co-create shared experiences. STAN represents this future, and we are pleased to support their efforts in shaping a new social layer for upcoming generations of gamers.”
Parth Chadha, Co-founder & CEO of STAN, added, “Sony Innovation Fund’s participation strengthens our conviction in our vision and India’s growing influence in the global gaming sector. With the support of all our investors, we are working toward building the most creator-centric, mobile-first platform that transforms how gaming communities interact and grow.”
Kalyan Sivalenka, Managing Partner at Hyderabad Angels Fund (HAF VC), noted, “India is on the brink of a major shift in gaming and digital communities. STAN’s ability to combine social engagement with creator monetisation makes it a potential global category leader. We are proud to back the team alongside global partners as they build the future of gaming from India.”
STAN, which has surpassed 30 million downloads and has a strong presence across tier-2 and tier-3 cities, is reshaping how gaming communities connect, engage, and earn. The company plans to use the fresh capital to enhance AI-driven personalization, expand creator monetisation features, strengthen publisher partnerships, and accelerate its growth into additional mobile-first markets.
STAN is a leading India-based mobile-native social platform built for gaming creators, publishers, and communities. Through features such as live audio, creator clubs, and real-time monetisation, STAN enables seamless community building and engagement. The platform is available on Android and iOS.
