Stacie Sire Appointed as Vice President and Managing Director of Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center

Boeing [NYSE: BA] has announced the appointment of Stacie Sire as Vice President and Managing Director of the Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center (BIETC), as well as Chief Engineer for Boeing India. She succeeds Ahmed Elsherbini, who served in the role from April 2021 until January 2025.

Based in Bengaluru, Sire now oversees BIETC’s strategic direction and day-to-day operations. She is tasked with strengthening the center’s contributions to Boeing’s global engineering efforts while driving innovation and supporting the company’s long-term growth in India.

Elsherbini has transitioned to a new position as Senior Vice President and General Manager, leading Boeing Global Engineering. “We’re pleased to welcome Stacie to this role,” he said. “Her 27 years of leadership and engineering expertise at Boeing make her an excellent fit. She brings a deep understanding of complex systems, cross-functional teamwork, and a passion for innovation that will support our efforts to build a globally integrated engineering organization.”

Sire expressed enthusiasm about her new role, stating, “It’s an exciting time to be part of Boeing’s journey in India. With a focus on safety, engineering excellence, and collaboration, I’m honored to work alongside a talented team to support our ongoing mission in aerospace and defense.”

Sire began her Boeing career as a structural engineer and progressed through various leadership roles, including positions in stress analysis, airframe systems, propulsion, and integration engineering. She has previously held director and chief engineer roles across multiple programs, including the 787, 767, and 777, and most recently served as Senior Director of Engineering for fabrication, overseeing global support for 20 manufacturing units.

Boeing continues to build its presence in India through advanced aerospace technologies, supplier development, and partnerships with academic and research institutions. The company sources over $1.25 billion annually from India, working with more than 300 local suppliers.

Its India operations include a joint venture manufacturing components for Apache helicopters and 737 aircraft, and a workforce of nearly 7,000 employees, alongside more than 13,000 people engaged through the supply chain. Boeing’s community outreach and development initiatives across India have positively impacted over 1.5 million individuals through education, skilling, and support programs.
