SRF Ltd to Invest ₹750 Crore in New Agro-Chemical and BOPP Film Units

SRF Ltd, a diversified chemical and industrial manufacturing company, has announced plans to invest close to ₹750 crore to set up two new production facilities—an agro-chemical plant in Gujarat and a BOPP film unit in Indore. These projects are part of the company’s ongoing expansion strategy to strengthen its presence across key sectors.

Headquartered in Gurugram, SRF Ltd operates in multiple business segments including fluorochemicals, specialty chemicals, performance films and foils, technical textiles, and coated fabrics. As per a regulatory filing dated July 23, the company’s board has approved the establishment of an agrochemical intermediate manufacturing plant at Dahej, Gujarat. With a proposed investment of ₹250 crore, the facility will have an annual capacity of 12,000 tonnes and is expected to be completed within 18 months.

In addition, the board has cleared a ₹490 crore investment for setting up a new BOPP (Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene) film production plant in Indore. This unit will feature a cutting-edge 10.4-meter-wide Bruckner film line and metallising equipment. The project is scheduled for completion over the next 24 months.

SRF has also reported strong financial performance for the April–June quarter of the current fiscal year. The company posted a consolidated net profit of ₹432.32 crore, marking a 71% increase from ₹252.22 crore in the same quarter last year. Revenue from operations rose to ₹3,818.62 crore, up 10% from ₹3,464.12 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Commenting on the performance, Chairman and Managing Director Ashish Bharat Ram said, “Despite subdued seasonal demand and uncertainty in global markets, we’ve seen a promising start to the financial year. Our focus on capital investments remains strong, and we are optimistic—albeit cautiously—for the coming months.” In the previous financial year (2024–25), SRF reported a consolidated net profit of ₹1,251 crore on a total income of ₹14,825.79 crore.
