SPML Infra Limited, a leading Indian infrastructure company specializing in water management, has secured a ₹1,073 crore (inclusive of GST) contract from the Indore Municipal Corporation. The project falls under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0, a national initiative aimed at enhancing urban water infrastructure and promoting water sustainability in Indian cities. In addition to design and execution, the project includes a 10-year operation and maintenance (O&M) component to ensure long-term efficiency.

The scope of the project focuses on upgrading Indore’s water supply infrastructure to serve a population of over 2 million. Key components include the construction of a 1,650 MLD intake system and raw water pump house, a 400 MLD water treatment plant (WTP) equipped with modern technologies, booster pumping stations, and a transmission pipeline network spanning 22 kilometers with diameters ranging from 1200 mm to 2337 mm. The project also involves establishing a 132/33 kV electrical substation to support water supply operations.

The engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) phase is scheduled for completion within 30 months, including monsoon periods, from the date of contract signing. The long-term O&M component ensures system reliability, with structured escalation mechanisms in place for service continuity.

Subhash Sethi, Chairman of SPML Infra, remarked that the contract reflects SPML’s capacity to execute complex and integrated water infrastructure systems. He highlighted Indore’s reputation for cleanliness and urban management, noting that the upgraded water supply system would further support the city’s development goals. The project reinforces SPML’s technical and operational capabilities in delivering large-scale water projects.

The contract strengthens SPML’s presence in the urban water sector and aligns with national objectives focused on sustainable infrastructure and improved quality of urban life. It also demonstrates the company’s ability to maintain long-term partnerships with municipal and state-level authorities.
