Sony Honda Mobility Inc (SHM) and Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. have announced the expansion of their collaboration to incorporate advanced Snapdragon® Digital Chassis™ solutions into upcoming AFEELA vehicles. This enhanced partnership aims to bring next-generation features, including edge-based generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), to offer more intuitive and personalized in-car experiences, alongside enhanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and seamless connectivity.
The extended collaboration will focus on creating software-defined vehicles (SDVs) that reflect Sony’s legacy in entertainment and Honda’s automotive expertise. The goal is to provide AFEELA vehicles with cutting-edge technology, ensuring that both drivers and passengers benefit from an innovative, connected, and safe automotive experience.
The first AFEELA vehicles equipped with Snapdragon Digital Chassis technologies are scheduled for delivery in 2026, with reservations opening later this year. The key Snapdragon Digital Chassis platforms for AFEELA vehicles include the Snapdragon® Cockpit Platform, which enhances in-vehicle entertainment by delivering high-quality audio and immersive 3D visuals.
This platform leverages GenAI to transform the cabin into a personalized digital environment with interactive AI-driven features, offering a premium user experience. The Snapdragon® Auto Connectivity Platforms ensure secure, reliable connectivity for infotainment systems, providing seamless access to navigation, entertainment, and other essential digital services.
Additionally, the Snapdragon® Ride Platform supports the development of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) in AFEELA vehicles. This platform offers a flexible, scalable solution for integrating AI, automation, and safety features, enabling the creation of sophisticated and customizable driving experiences. Together, these platforms represent a powerful technological foundation for delivering next-generation features in AFEELA vehicles, making them smarter, safer, and more connected.
Nakul Duggal, Qualcomm Technologies’ group general manager, commented, “This partnership emphasizes our commitment to advancing automotive technologies for future vehicles. We’re excited to support AFEELA with GenAI to deliver premium, safe, and innovative mobility experiences.”
Izumi Kawanishi, president and COO of Sony Honda Mobility, stated, “By integrating Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Digital Chassis and GenAI into our AFEELA brand, we’re making significant progress toward creating software-defined vehicles that offer a seamless and connected driving experience, transforming mobility into an entertainment space.”
