Sona BLW Precision Forgings Limited (Sona Comstar), a leading mobility technology company supplying mission-critical systems and components for electric and conventional vehicles, has reported strong financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. The company also introduced its long-term growth roadmap, Sona Comstar 2.0, aimed at expanding its technology portfolio, strengthening its global presence and entering new high-growth sectors.

For the first quarter of FY27, Sona Comstar reported revenue of ₹1,310 crore, representing a 54% year-on-year increase. The company achieved its highest-ever quarterly revenue, supported by continued growth in electric vehicle programmes and a diversified customer base across global markets.

Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose 49% to ₹303 crore, with an EBITDA margin of 23.1%. Profit after tax (PAT) increased 45% to ₹181 crore, while the net profit margin stood at 13.6%. Battery electric vehicle (BEV) revenue more than doubled during the quarter, increasing 107% year-on-year. BEV products accounted for 44% of the company’s automotive revenue, the highest share recorded by the company to date. Sona Comstar said the performance reflects the continued diversification of its electric vehicle business across customers, products and geographic markets despite slower growth in certain global EV markets.

During the quarter, the company secured three new business orders covering electric vehicle, hybrid vehicle and internal combustion engine (ICE) programmes. The orders include a contract from an existing North American automotive manufacturer to supply differential assemblies for a hybrid passenger vehicle platform, adding ₹640 crore to the order book, with production expected to begin in the second half of FY29.

The company also received two orders from a new-age electric two-wheeler manufacturer for hub-wheel traction motors, contributing ₹90 crore to its order pipeline. In addition, it secured another order from an existing North American customer for differential gears for an ICE passenger vehicle platform, valued at ₹210 crore, with production scheduled to commence in the second half of FY28.

Sona Comstar also announced its Sona Comstar 2.0 strategy, which outlines its ambition to achieve another tenfold growth over the next decade. As part of the roadmap, the company plans to accelerate the development of new product verticals through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions, increase its focus on fast-growing markets across Asia and other eastern economies, and expand into intelligent and connected mobility technologies.

The company has also broadened its Sensors and Software business into a new Robotics and Physical AI vertical. The initiative will focus on developing mission-critical components and subsystems for robotics platforms, engineering perception software, providing engineering research and development services, and manufacturing selected full-stack robotic systems.

Commenting on the results, Vivek Vikram Singh, Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of Sona Comstar, said the first quarter marked an important milestone with the launch of the company’s next phase of growth strategy. He said the partnership with DENSO strengthens Sona Comstar’s capabilities in high-voltage electric and hybrid powertrain systems, while the expansion into robotics and physical AI opens new opportunities beyond automotive electrification.

Headquartered in Gurugram, Sona Comstar operates manufacturing facilities, engineering centres and research and development operations across India, the United States, Mexico, Serbia and China. The company supplies advanced driveline systems, traction motors, precision components, sensors and software solutions to global mobility manufacturers across electric, hybrid, conventional automotive and railway sectors.
