Solex Energy is planning a significant expansion, aiming to boost its solar module manufacturing capacity to 15 gigawatts (GW) by 2030, according to Chairman and Managing Director Chetan Shah. The initiative will require an estimated investment of ₹8,000 crore, part of the company’s “Solex Energy Vision 2030” strategy.
“We plan to scale up our current capacity from 1.5 GW to 15 GW, which will involve a substantial investment of approximately ₹8,000 crore,” Shah said, speaking to PTI. He added that the majority of the funding will be sourced from equity markets, with the remainder coming from financial institutions.
The expansion also includes establishing a new cell manufacturing facility with an initial production capacity of 2 GW, which can be scaled up to 5 GW. Solar cells are a critical component in module manufacturing.
India’s solar market continues to grow, supported by government initiatives aimed at ensuring access to high-efficiency solar modules. One such effort is the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM), which Solex adheres to by introducing N-Type TOPcon technology in its Tapi-R series modules.
These modules feature rectangular cells with dimensions of 182.2 x 210 mm and 132 half-cut cells, offering an efficiency of up to 23.14%. They are particularly suited for large-scale projects in challenging environments like deserts and barren lands.
Solex Energy recently became the first Indian manufacturer to earn the MCS 005 certification under the BSI Kitemark, accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS). Solex Energy is a prominent Indian company specializing in the production of solar energy solutions, contributing significantly to the country’s renewable energy sector.
Established with a focus on sustainability, Solex Energy manufactures a wide range of solar products, including photovoltaic modules, solar water heaters, and solar power systems. The company is committed to innovation and environmental responsibility, catering to both residential and commercial markets with efficient, cost-effective solar solutions.
