Solex Energy, based in Gujarat, has successfully commissioned an 800 MW solar module manufacturing line. This new facility is designed to mass-produce n-type, rectangular cell Tapi-R series modules, with power ratings ranging from 585 Wp to 625 Wp.
The company highlighted that the new production line operates 30% faster than other lines in India, which boosts output and shortens production timelines. The facility also integrates advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI) and automated optical inspection (AOI), which improve quality control and minimize manual interventions.
One of the standout features of the facility is its use of India’s largest chamber laminators, a pioneering innovation that increases module production efficiency by enabling higher laminations per cycle, all while maintaining rigorous quality standards. The Tapi-R series modules are composed of 132 half-cut cells and are based on 182.2 x 210mm wafers, providing up to 625 Wp of power and achieving a module efficiency of 23.14%.
As part of its Vision 2030 strategy, Solex Energy plans to further expand its manufacturing capabilities. The company is preparing to launch a new cell manufacturing plant with an initial capacity of 2 GW, scalable to 5 GW, and aims to increase its module manufacturing capacity from 1.5 GW to 15 GW.
