Things are wrong on our Planet. Once holy, the rivers are poisoned, 33% of the soil globally is degraded. Forests are cut down, sea levels are rising, snowfall in desert areas, and heatwaves in coldest places.  Do technologies for progress are making our lives happier?

“It is not just science and technology, but the philosophy of life is going to enable humans towards a sustainable life”, said Dr Chetan Singh Solanki delivering his address about living a carbon-neutral life. He was felicitating Saswat Sourav Panda, Young Solar Achiever in Solar Energy Society of India program conducted virtually on 1st June 2021.

Dr Solanki told that following Gandhiji’s philosophy and learnings from our Shastras, limited consumption and localized production are the key areas one should focus on at this moment. “As a Professor, I ask questions. Today in the name of comfortability, what we are achieving, Modernity or Stupidity”, Dr Solanki raised an important point in his speech on the challenges we are.

“Once holy, the rivers of India are now highly polluted and poisoned, 33% of the soil globally is degraded and most places it is becoming dust. Forest considered the lungs of our planet is cut down. Is this Modernity or Stupidity”, asked Dr Solanki. He informed more than science and technology, the philosophy of life will make more sense. He also mentioned that if we are not able to change our approach towards life, giving a solution for a problem, may only create another problem.

“The possibilities of Solar are infinite. Am happy and proud to felicitate Saswat, who is one step ahead of using solar energy, by organising a carbon-neutral marriage function, and what he did require courage, and this is crazy", said Dr Chetan Singh Solanki felicitating Saswat Sourav Panda.
