Czech automaker Skoda Auto is gearing up to introduce a range of electric vehicles in India, from mild hybrids to fully electric models, as part of its push towards electric mobility, according to the company’s Chairman and CEO, Klaus Zellmer.

Speaking at the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers’ (SIAM) annual convention, Zellmer shared the company’s roadmap for India, starting with an entry-level electric vehicle that will be launched globally in 2026 and will also be available in India. This will be followed by the introduction of the all-electric SUV Enyaq and another compact SUV, Elroq.

“We have a clear plan for India. It covers a full spectrum of vehicles, including mild hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and fully battery-electric vehicles,” Zellmer said in response to a query about Skoda’s electrification strategy for the Indian market.

Explaining the rationale behind offering multiple technologies, Zellmer noted that Skoda aims to cater to the diverse preferences of customers in India. “We believe in providing options that suit customers’ willingness to pay for the technology they prefer for their mobility needs,” he added.

As for the product lineup, Zellmer highlighted that the entry-level EV will make its debut in 2026 and will be available in India as well. The next electric vehicle for India will be the Enyaq, a battery-powered SUV that is currently available in Europe.

Following the Enyaq, Skoda plans to roll out the compact SUV Elroq for the Indian market, further strengthening its electric vehicle portfolio. Skoda Auto has been leading the Volkswagen Group’s efforts to revive its presence in India, following a strategic plan first outlined in 2018.
