As the 112th edition of the Tour de France begins, Škoda Auto returns for the 22nd consecutive year as the event’s main automotive partner. The company is supplying up to 225 support vehicles, all of which are either fully electric or plug-in hybrid models, showcasing its focus on sustainable mobility.
Two of the vehicles – a Škoda Enyaq and a Superb iV – will serve as the iconic Red Cars for Race Director Christian Prudhomme, leading the peloton during each stage of the race. Škoda is also continuing its long-standing support as the sponsor of the green jersey, worn by the leader in the points classification, and is once again responsible for creating the crystal trophies awarded to the top riders in each category.
This year’s Tour takes place from July 5 to 27, starting in Lille and concluding with the traditional finish on the Champs-Élysées in Paris. A total of 184 cyclists from 23 teams will compete over 21 stages, covering 3,339 kilometers and a staggering 52,500 meters of elevation. Riders will navigate through the Massif Central, the Pyrenees, the Alps — including a climb up the legendary Mont Ventoux — and the Jura Mountains. The highest point of the race will be the Col de la Loze, at 2,304 meters above sea level.
Škoda Auto is providing a fleet of up to 225 vehicles to race organizers, all of which are either battery-electric or plug-in hybrid models. The fully electric Enyaq and the hybrid Superb are key components of the fleet. Joining the caravan this year is the ŠkodaElroqRespectline, which will accompany the race from start to finish, symbolizing the brand’s commitment to respect, diversity, and inclusion.
Also featured is the L&K 130, the tenth Škoda Student Car, a one-of-a-kind model built by students from the Škoda Auto Secondary Vocational School of Engineering — highlighting the company’s investment in future talent. Race Director Christian Prudhomme will once again command two specially outfitted Red Cars — the Enyaq and the Superb iV. These vehicles serve as mobile control centers, equipped with advanced communication tools that allow coordination with officials and teams throughout each stage.
Škoda Auto will once again supply the trophies for the race’s key winners: overall champion, points leader, mountain classification leader, and best young rider. This year’s designs feature a special 130th anniversary insignia, celebrating the brand’s long-standing legacy in mobility.
Škoda is rolling out several fan-centric initiatives, including exclusive contests offering chances to win rides in Škoda vehicles during the final stage in Paris. Winners and their guests will also have the unique opportunity to cycle alongside former pros on a 60 km route around the Champs-Élysées.
Additional prizes include professional bicycles, official green jerseys, and rides with 2010 Tour de France winner Andy Schleck, who is a brand ambassador for Škoda’sWeLoveCycling community. Visitors along the race route can enjoy a stop at the Škoda Coffee Car, while a branded promotional caravan will distribute gifts and souvenirs. Škoda also supports the official Tour de France mobile app.
Škoda Auto’s connection to cycling dates back to its founding in 1895, when VáclavLaurin and VáclavKlement began manufacturing bicycles in MladáBoleslav. Today, Škoda continues to invest in cycling at all levels — from grassroots to elite competitions. Beyond the Tour de France, the company also supports the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, the Vuelta a España, and L’Étape amateur races.
This year, Škoda also announced its role as an official partner of the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships and the UCI Gravel World Championships for the next two seasons — expanding its footprint across the cycling world.
