The appointment was approved by the Nomination Committee and the Board of Directors at their meeting held on August 11, 2026. In his new role, Mr Pai will be responsible for leading the company’s operations and driving its growth and profitability agenda in India.

Mr Pai succeeds Mukund Vasudevan, who will take on the role of President – Industrial Region, covering India, Southeast Asia and the Middle East within the SKF Group. Mr Vasudevan will transition from his current position as Managing Director of SKF India (Industrial) to a Non-Executive Director on the company’s Board.

The leadership transition is intended to create a clear division between regional strategic responsibilities and the operational management of the India business. Mr Pai brings more than four years of experience with SKF and has held leadership responsibilities across sales and operations. During his tenure, he has worked across the organisation and gained experience in managing business operations and customer relationships.

Before joining SKF, Mr Pai led the Sales and Service business for Danfoss Drives India. Mr Pai holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from P.E.S.I.T., Bangalore, and an MBA from the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad.

The appointment comes as SKF India (Industrial) continues to expand its portfolio of technology and engineering solutions for industrial customers. The company provides bearings and bearing units, condition monitoring technologies and related services designed to improve equipment reliability, productivity and operating efficiency. The company said the new leadership structure will support sharper operational focus in India while enabling closer coordination with SKF’s wider industrial business across the region.

Founded in 1907, SKF develops bearings, seals, lubrication systems, condition monitoring solutions and related services aimed at reducing friction and improving the efficiency of industrial equipment. The company operates in approximately 130 countries and has around 17,000 distributor locations worldwide. SKF reported annual sales of SEK 91,583 million in 2025 and had approximately 37,271 employees globally.
