SKF India Limited has completed its demerger, effective October 1, 2025, forming two standalone companies — SKF India Limited and SKF India (Industrial) Limited. The restructuring allows each entity to sharpen its strategic focus and drive sector-specific growth.

Shailesh Kumar Sharma has been appointed Managing Director of SKF India Limited’s automotive business, which aims to scale up EV, two-wheeler, and wheel-end bearing capacities across Haridwar, Pune, and Bangalore by 2030. Meanwhile, Mukund Vasudevan will continue to head the Industrial Business for India and Southeast Asia as President, and has also taken charge as Managing Director of SKF India (Industrial) Limited, which is expected to list by November 2025.

Commenting on the milestone, Shailesh Kumar Sharma said, “The demerger represents a defining step for SKF India. With two focused entities, we can respond faster and more effectively to the needs of the mobility and industrial ecosystems. The automotive business is well-positioned to capture opportunities in EV adoption and premiumization, while creating long-term value for stakeholders in this decade of transformation.” Both organizations will function independently while leveraging SKF’s global expertise and technology ecosystem to accelerate India’s industrial and mobility growth story.
