Sineng Electric, a global leader in solar and energy storage solutions, has successfully powered a 661MW (925MWp) solar project in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. Now operational, this milestone project plays a crucial role in India’s renewable energy transition.
With a national goal of achieving 500GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2070, India is rapidly expanding its renewable energy sector. This solar initiative is a key component of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India’s 975MW hybrid renewable energy system, which integrates 661MW (925MWp) of solar power alongside 314MW of wind energy.
For this groundbreaking project, Sineng Electric supplied 184 units of its advanced 3.3MW central inverter (EP-3300-HB-UD), delivering a total of 606MWac. Designed for high efficiency—reaching up to 99%—and equipped with three-level topology technology, these inverters optimize energy output and reduce the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE). Engineered for resilience, Sineng’s solutions maintain peak performance even in extreme ambient temperatures of up to 51ºC, ensuring reliable energy generation.
Sineng Electric played a critical role in the project’s seamless execution, providing timely equipment delivery and on-site engineering support. This initiative underscores the company’s deep commitment to India’s energy sector, reinforced by its localization strategy covering production, marketing, and customer service.
John Hu, General Manager of Sineng Electric International Department, highlighted the significance of this achievement, stating, “We are proud to contribute to this landmark project with our cutting-edge inverter technology. Our solutions, known for their efficiency and compliance with India’s latest grid standards, are the ideal choice for large-scale solar installations. This project exemplifies how renewable energy can decarbonize industries while promoting sustainability and economic growth.”
