Simple Energy, a prominent electric vehicle startup based in Bengaluru, has recently announced the launch of six new retail outlets named ‘Simple Stores.’ These new locations will showcase and retail the company’s electric scooters, specifically the Simple ONE and the Dot ONE models. This expansion marks the company’s first significant growth initiative since its initial market entry.
The newly established Simple Stores will feature bespoke designs and dedicated experience centers crafted by Simple Energy. However, these showrooms will be operated and managed by the company’s authorized network partners. The six new outlets will be strategically located across Vijayawada, as well as multiple locations in Bengaluru, including Rajajinagar, JP Nagar, and Marathahalli, with additional stores in Pune and Goa.
The Simple ONE electric scooter is priced at Rs 1.45 lakh, while the Dot ONE is available for Rs 1 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom). The Simple ONE is equipped with a sophisticated battery setup that includes both fixed and removable components, delivering a total capacity of 4.8 kWh.
This configuration allows for an impressive, claimed range of 212 km. On the other hand, the Dot ONE is powered by a 3.7 kWh battery, which provides a claimed range of 151 km. Both models are driven by a motor that offers a peak output of 8.5 kW and 72 Nm of torque.
In terms of design, both scooters feature a suspension system with a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. For safety, the braking system includes disc brakes equipped with Combined Braking System (CBS).
Founded in 2019, Simple Energy made its debut into the mass-market motorcycle segment with the launch of the Simple ONE in 2021. The initial delivery timeline faced delays, pushing the delivery date from June 2022 to January 2023. Finally, deliveries commenced in June 2023, and to date, the company has successfully sold 639 units of the Simple ONE.
