Silectric Semiconductor Manufacturing Pvt Ltd, backed by Zoho, is set to invest ₹3,425.60 crore in Karnataka’s first electronics manufacturing cluster at Kochanahalli in Mysuru. This investment is expected to create 460 jobs in the region.
The decision was part of the 64th State High-Level Clearance Committee (SHLCC) meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The committee approved 10 proposals worth a total of ₹9,823 crore across various industrial sectors, projected to generate 5,605 jobs in the state.
Among the new projects, DN Solutions India Private Ltd plans to invest ₹998 crore in the ITIR, Devanahalli, creating 467 jobs, while Sansera Engineering Ltd will invest ₹2,150 crore in Harohalli, generating 3,500 jobs. Six expansion and amendment proposals totaling ₹3,249.7 crore were also cleared, expected to add 1,178 jobs.
Several key investments are set to bolster industrial growth and employment across Karnataka. Musashi Auto Parts India Pvt Ltd plans a ₹122.66 crore facility in Doddaballapura, promising to create 478 jobs. JSW Cement Ltd is investing ₹486.82 crore in Toranagal, Ballari, generating 225 jobs, while NIDEC Industrial Automation India Pvt Ltd will establish a ₹200 crore facility in Belur, Dharwad, adding 150 jobs.
Additionally, Epsilon Carbon Pvt Ltd is expanding operations in Sandur with a ₹740 crore investment, creating 325 new positions. Other major projects include K B Steels PvtLtd’s ₹852.49 crore venture in Hosapete, Vijayanagara, and Sify Data Managed Services Ltd’s ₹847.74 crore initiative in the High-Tech Defence and Aerospace Park. Together, these projects signify a significant economic boost, enhancing employment opportunities and contributing to Karnataka’s industrial development.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah highlighted that Silectric Semiconductor will establish the state’s first semiconductor project at the Kochanahalli Electronics Manufacturing Cluster. The government has allocated 234 acres of land near Kadakola, Mysuru, for the development of semiconductor and electronics manufacturing units. Additionally, Karnataka is preparing to launch a new Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) policy to attract further investment in the sector.
