Sikorsky, a division of Lockheed Martin, has formed a new collaboration with top commercial helicopter operators to help shape the development of advanced technologies for next-generation vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft. The Sikorsky Customer Advisory Group, which includes companies such as Bristow, Flexjet, HeliOffshore, Macquarie, Omni Helicopters International, Shell, and VIH Aviation Group, will work directly with Sikorsky to define real-world needs for integrating emerging technologies like autonomy, unmanned aerial systems (UAS), and hybrid-electric propulsion into future vertical lift aircraft. This partnership aims to drive innovation, accelerate progress, and support industry growth.

“We are thrilled to have these industry leaders collaborate with us on this exciting journey,” said Leon Silva, vice president of Global Commercial and Military Systems at Sikorsky. “Their valuable insights and expertise will guide the development of our Hybrid-Electric Propulsion, Autonomy, and UAS technologies, helping us shape the future of vertical lift and unlock new opportunities within the industry.”

The group will provide a platform for operators to share feedback, discuss operational challenges, and influence Sikorsky’s future aircraft designs. This collaboration will enable Sikorsky to better understand customer needs and refine solutions to meet their evolving demands. The company anticipates welcoming more members to the advisory group in the future.
