Siemens Limited, in collaboration with Tata STRIVE, has successfully impacted over 120,000 beneficiaries through their Dual Vocational Education and Training (Dual VET) program. Over the past eight years, the initiative has reached 279 Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across India, significantly enhancing skill development and aligning vocational training with industry needs.
The Dual VET program bridges the gap between classroom instruction and industry requirements by combining theoretical education with practical, hands-on training. It equips ITI instructors with modern teaching methodologies like inquiry-based and project-based learning, while also fostering industry involvement through in-plant training opportunities for students.
Sunil Mathur, Managing Director and CEO of Siemens Limited, emphasized the company’s commitment to sustainable progress through education and innovation. “Our CSR initiatives focus on creating long-term impact across three areas—education, social upliftment, and the environment. The Dual VET initiative is a reflection of our purpose-driven approach to creating sustainable value for society.”
S Ramadorai, Chairman of the Advisory Board at Tata STRIVE, highlighted the program’s strategic alignment with national goals. “ITIs play a critical role in India’s skill development framework and are central to missions like ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’. The Siemens-Tata STRIVE partnership demonstrates how sustained collaboration can modernize vocational training and make it more relevant to today’s industry.”
Ameya Vanjari, Chief Operating Officer at Tata STRIVE, added, “This initiative is bringing industry and training institutions closer together. Reaching over 1.2 lakh trainees is a proud achievement, and our efforts are aimed at ensuring the impact is long-term, scalable, and transformative for India’s skilling ecosystem.”
The program continues to strengthen India’s vocational education landscape by building an industry-ready workforce, improving employability, and establishing a structured pipeline from ITI classrooms to industry shop floors.
