Siemens unveiled its MACHINUM digitalization portfolio at IMTEX 2025, aiming to revolutionize the Indian machine tool sector by boosting efficiency, speed, and sustainability. MACHINUM is designed to reduce setup time by up to 20%, and cut cycle times and energy consumption by up to 18%.
With increasing investments in India’s high-end manufacturing sectors serving both domestic and global markets, the country’s machine tool industry is experiencing a digital shift. This transformation is driven by the adoption of advanced technologies to meet the growing demand for precision, customization, and integrated solutions in manufacturing.
Achim Peltz, CEO of Siemens Motion Control and Digital Industries, Siemens AG, remarked, “As a leader in providing integrated solutions across the value chain, our focus is to drive digitalization adoption and help the industry move up the value chain through co-creation. The launch of the MACHINUM portfolio supports the sustainable, digital, and future-proof evolution of the machine tool manufacturing ecosystem in India.”
Part of the Siemens Xcelerator digital business platform, MACHINUM includes a range of software and IoT-enabled hardware, creating a seamless experience for companies in the machine tool industry to implement digital transformations that are faster, scalable, and more efficient in both manufacturing and design.
At IMTEX 2025, Siemens also showcased the upgraded 5th generation SINUMERIK 828D, introducing SINUMERIK Run MyVirtual Machine. This feature allows NC programs to be created, validated, and optimized using a digital twin of the machine, reducing real machine setup time by up to 20% and minimizing production risks. The system also offers faster program buffering, enhanced operator visibility, and robust cybersecurity measures for safe operations.
Vijay Pratap Singh, Head of Motion Control, Digital Industries, Siemens Limited, said, “Our energy-efficient hardware, operational technologies, and digitalization solutions are vital for enhancing sustainability in the machine tool manufacturing industry. At IMTEX 2025, we will highlight our components that not only lower energy consumption and carbon footprint but also provide solutions to recover and optimize energy use, helping manufacturers improve productivity with fewer resources.”
Siemens Limited, the Indian arm of Siemens AG, continues to lead the charge in providing technology solutions that drive industrial, infrastructural, and energy advancements, creating value for customers by merging the physical and digital worlds.
