Siemens and Partners to Electrify Bengaluru Metro Phase 2

Siemens Limited, working with Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), has won a contract from Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) to electrify Bengaluru Metro’s Phase 2. The total order value is about Rs. 766 crore, with Siemens’ share being Rs. 558 crore.

Siemens will handle the design, engineering, installation, and commissioning of rail electrification technologies. They will also implement a digital Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. The project includes 30 stations over 58 kilometers, connecting Bengaluru Airport to Central Silk Board via KR Puram, and includes two depots. Siemens is now involved in metro projects in 11 out of the 20 cities in India.
