Siemens eMobility has been selected to spearhead two critical EV charging infrastructure projects in Italy, partnering with Autolinee Toscane and IPLANET. These initiatives aim to electrify public transportation and repurpose traditional petrol stations into modern EV service hubs, underscoring Italy’s commitment to sustainable mobility.
For Autolinee Toscane, part of the RATP DEV Italia Group, Siemens is electrifying bus depots in Florence, Prato, and Lucca to support the deployment of zero-emission buses. The project includes 73 SICHARGE UC charging points, delivering 100-150KW power, alongside advanced medium and low-voltage distribution systems equipped with IoT-enabled switches for energy efficiency. Siemens is also providing its DepotFinity software for comprehensive monitoring, smart charging, and vehicle battery pre-conditioning, enhancing operational efficiency and sustainability.
Additionally, Siemens is collaborating with IPLANET to transform petrol stations into strategically located EV service areas, creating a robust charging infrastructure that accelerates the transition to green mobility. These efforts reflect Siemens’ broader mission to integrate innovative technologies into energy systems, enabling efficient, eco-friendly transportation solutions across urban and intercity networks.
