SIAM’s 18th Virtual Webinar: Future of Automotive Aftermarket Parts in India

SIAM hosted its 18th lecture on ‘Future if Automotive Aftermarket Parts in India’ on Friday, November 26. The webinar focused on two important aspects such as ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Curbing Counterfeit for Safer Mobility’.

The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) hosted its 18th lecture, in view of Atmanirbhar Bharat, Digitalization and making of Quality and safer products for the customers. The webinar talked about aftermarket products and services and the challenges and possibilities around the factors such as Quintessential Quality, Curb Counterfeit, Vocal for Local, Simplify Supply-Chain, Amplify Access, Evaluate E-Commerce.

The first session talked on ‘Vocal for Local’ with the theme of ‘Leveraging Aftermarket and Auto Components PLI’. The first session featured eminent speakers such as Yash Pal Sachar, Chairman, SIAM Aftermarket Part Group & General Manager at Honda Cars India; Ramashankar Pandey, The Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) Aftermarket Parts Group and Managing Director at Hella India; Mustafa Wajid, Chairman, E-mobility and Charging Infrastructure, IEEMA; Saurabh Kapoor, Managing Director, JSG Innotech.

The session threw some light on fresh topics such as Localization in the context of aftermarket opportunities and challenges including ease of business.

Talking about the lecture, Prashant K Banarjee, Executive Director, SIAM said, “Aftermarket issues are among the most overlooked problems despite customer satisfaction viewpoint, safer, affordable and quality products and services are of utmost importance.

SIAM is looking forward to more such sessions wherein opportunities and challenges in the aftermarket sector are discussed, to provide safer and captivating mobility experience to the customers”.

The second session on ‘Curb Counterfeit for Safer Mobility’ with the theme of ‘Adopting New Age Technologies like Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning’. This session included a panel of experts such as Pankaj Monga, Partner & Practice Head, Brand Protection, Lall & Sethi; Shaleen Agarwal, Founder & CEO, Garaaz; Anubhav Amarnath, Founder & CEO, EngineCAL Technology; Thomas Weiss, Founder & CEO, Authentic Vision.
