Shepherd, a leading provider of IoT and enterprise endpoint security based in India, has announced a collaboration with Intel to integrate Intel Threat Detection Technology (Intel TDT) into its security suite, enhancing its ability to combat ransomware. As ransomware attacks continue to grow in sophistication, improving endpoint defense remains a critical focus in the cybersecurity industry. By incorporating Intel’s advanced detection capabilities, Shepherd aims to offer customers improved protection against methods used to bypass traditional security measures.

Anter Virk, CEO of Shepherd, shared, “This integration will leverage CPU-level telemetry to detect unauthorized encryption attempts in real-time, reinforcing our proactive security approach.” He further emphasized that combining Shepherd’s kernel-mode detection with Intel TDT will provide unmatched ransomware protection on Intel-powered devices. “We focus on minimizing system performance impacts while enhancing security, which remains a key reason our customers choose us,” he added.

Carla Rodriguez, VP and GM of Intel Client Software Enabling, also commented, “This partnership will help improve enterprise-level cybersecurity, especially for businesses using Intel Core Ultra AI PCs.” The enhanced security features will be available in the upcoming release of Shepherd’s updated endpoint solutions.

The collaboration aligns with India’s drive for technological innovation, as outlined in the Union Budget 2025. The budget introduced a Rs. 10,000 Cr Fund of Funds for startups and plans for a Deep Tech Fund to support next-generation companies, such as Shepherd. Additionally, the Rs. 20,000 Cr investment in private sector R&D underscores the government’s commitment to fostering technological progress. The establishment of an AI Centre of Excellence (CoE) also highlights the focus on integrating AI in education, although industry leaders emphasize the need for clearer execution to maximize the benefits of these initiatives.
