Sharda Motor Industries Limited (SMIL) has confirmed that its new manufacturing facility in Chakan, Maharashtra, will commence commercial production on June 23, 2025. The announcement follows the official receipt of the Factory License from the Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health, Government of Maharashtra, on June 20.
This development was communicated in a filing with both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE), building on an earlier announcement from May 2024. The Chakan plant marks a key milestone in the company’s strategic growth plan, aiming to enhance its production capabilities and meet the growing demand in the automotive components sector.
All necessary statutory approvals are now in place, and the facility is poised to play a significant role in supporting the company’s expansion and fulfilling customer needs across various automotive component lines. The update was provided by Iti Goyal, Assistant Company Secretary and Compliance Officer at SMIL, in accordance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements.
