Shakti Pumps (India) Limited, one of India’s leading manufacturers of energy-efficient pumps and motors, has received a work order from the Haryana Renewable Energy Department (HAREDA) for the supply, installation, and commissioning of 792 Solar Water Pumping Systems (SWPS) across the state of Haryana. The order has been awarded under Component-B of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme.
The total value of the order is approximately ₹23.54 crore (inclusive of GST). The project is required to be executed within a period of 90 days from the date of issuance of the work order. Under the scope of the project, Shakti Pumps will supply solar-powered water pumping systems designed to support irrigation requirements for farmers across Haryana. The systems are aimed at providing reliable, clean, and cost-effective energy for agricultural water needs, while reducing dependence on grid electricity and diesel-powered pumps.
Component-B of the PM-KUSUM scheme focuses on the deployment of standalone solar pumps to enable farmers to access uninterrupted irrigation, particularly in areas with limited or unreliable power supply. The initiative also plays a key role in promoting renewable energy adoption in the agricultural sector and improving farmers’ income by lowering operational costs.
