Servotech Power Systems Ltd., India’s largest manufacturer of EV chargers, has joined forces with LESSzwei GmbH (LESS2), a Germany-based enterprise focused on sustainable infrastructure, to develop fully solar-powered EV charging stations for micromobility solutions in German cities. The initiative, named EnerMAAS, aims to create a scalable and sustainable charging ecosystem for e-bikes, e-scooters, and e-cargo bikes.
Using artificial intelligence for energy management, the project will optimize energy usage and reduce environmental impact. The stations, known as BIKE-Ports, will convert photovoltaic systems and energy storage units into street-level charging points that operate entirely on solar energy.
Each BIKE-Port is designed to charge four two-wheelers at the same time, providing a total output of 3.3 kW. The project is supported by a grant from Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), with a timeline of 2.7 years to ensure its successful implementation.
This initiative aims to contribute to the growth of sustainable transportation solutions. Servotech will deliver the initial batch of 100 systems, with two charging stations installed in 50 cities across Germany. The collaboration involves key roles from two companies.
Servotech Power Systems is tasked with manufacturing and supplying the solar-powered charging stations, ensuring efficiency and reliability. LESSzwei GmbH is responsible for the integration of artificial intelligence and the development of the associated app, enabling seamless operation and smart management of the charging stations.
Raman Bhatia, Founder and Managing Director of Servotech Power Systems Ltd., stated:
“This partnership is a significant milestone in our journey to expand sustainable energy solutions internationally. By merging our solar energy expertise with LESSzwei’s innovative technologies, we are confident EnerMAAS will redefine micromobility infrastructure in Germany.”
The collaboration signals a major step toward building a sustainable and efficient urban transportation network. By integrating solar energy with cutting-edge technology, the project addresses the rising demand for green mobility solutions in Germany.
