Serentica Renewables plans to add 6.5 GW of new renewable energy capacity by December 2027, taking its total operational portfolio to 7.5 GW from the current 1 GW, according to Chief Executive Officer Akshay Hiranandani. The 7.5 GW target includes 3 GW of projects awarded by government-owned Renewable Energy Implementation Agencies (REIAs), which will account for nearly 40% of the company’s portfolio.
In the first five months of FY2025-26, Serentica signed three power purchase agreements (PPAs) and one Letter of Award (LoA) totaling 650 MW with major government utilities under the Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) framework. The agreements represent a diverse portfolio of renewable projects designed to expand clean energy capacity.
These include a 200 MW solar-wind-storage peak power project with NTPC and a 100 MW project awarded under SECI’s FDRE-IV load-following tender. Additionally, Serentica has signed a 150 MW hybrid peak power agreement with NHPC and secured a 200 MW supply contract from SJVN, structured to deliver time-block-based power during the high-demand months from April to August 2025. These initiatives are expected to enhance both energy reliability and sustainability. These projects will be developed across Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh.
Established in 2022, Serentica Renewables focuses on providing firm, dispatchable green energy solutions to decarbonise energy-intensive industries. The company aims to scale up to 17 GW of operational capacity by 2030, integrating large-scale storage systems such as pumped storage projects (PSPs) and battery energy storage systems (BESS). At full scale, Serentica expects to supply over 50 billion units of clean power annually, helping offset nearly 47 million tonnes of COâ‚‚ emissions.
