ARS Steel has become the first company in India to secure the 5-Star Green Steel Certification from the Ministry of Steel, Government of India. The certification, issued by the National Institute of Secondary Steel Technology (NISST), confirms ARS Steel’s emission intensity at 0.6432 tCO₂e per tonne of steel with a greenness rating of 70.8%—the lowest among all certified manufacturers so far. The certificate remains valid until March 31, 2026.
This achievement was made possible with the support of sentra.world, a leading carbon accounting platform for industrial manufacturing. By leveraging its advanced digital tools, sentra.world guided ARS Steel through every stage of the certification process, ensuring full compliance with the standards laid down by the Ministry of Steel and NISST.
The platform provided streamlined registration, precise emissions assessment, automated data integration, and independent third-party verification, creating a transparent and reliable framework. This not only enabled ARS Steel to secure the 5-Star Green Steel Certification but also established a strong foundation for future sustainability reporting and long-term climate accountability. These digital solutions helped ARS Steel comply with certification standards while establishing a robust framework for future sustainability reporting.
Harsh Choudhry, Co-founder & CEO, sentra.world, said “Supporting ARS Steel in achieving India’s first 5-Star Green Steel Certification is a proud accomplishment. Our platform is designed to help industries measure, reduce, and monetise their carbon footprint. This recognition demonstrates that sustainability and profitability can go hand in hand.”
Ashwani Kumar, Managing Director, ARS Steel, added “This certification is a landmark in our sustainability journey. It reflects our dedication to producing high-quality steel with one of the lowest carbon footprints in the country. With sentra.world’s technology, we are proving that steel can be both resilient and environmentally responsible.”
This achievement follows ARS Steel’s earlier distinction of being the first in India to supply green TMT bars to Epic Group’s sustainable manufacturing facility in Bhubaneswar, Odisha—also enabled by sentra.world. The collaboration continues to highlight how advanced technology and responsible manufacturing can transform industrial supply chains.
As the construction sector remains a major contributor to global emissions, green steel is expected to play a pivotal role in helping India meet its 2070 net-zero target. This certification sets a benchmark for sustainable steelmaking in the country and positions ARS Steel, supported by sentra.world, at the forefront of climate-conscious construction materials.
