As part of its commitment to strengthening rural education, SEIL Energy India Limited has provided 1,000 bicycles to schoolchildren in Addanki, Bapatla District, Andhra Pradesh. The initiative, carried out under the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, is aimed at improving access to education by addressing mobility challenges faced by students—particularly girls and those from disadvantaged communities.
The distribution took place at Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS), Makkenavaripalem, where Andhra Pradesh Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar Garu formally handed over the bicycles. An additional 452 bicycles were presented to students at ZPHS, Medarametla.
“This generous contribution from SEIL Energy is a vital step toward achieving the State Government’s target of distributing 10,000 bicycles to students in need. Improved access to schools will help reduce dropouts and ensure more children stay in the education system,” said the Minister.
Janmejaya Mahapatra, CEO of SEIL Energy India Limited, remarked, “We believe education is the key to long-term community progress. By facilitating safe and reliable transportation, we are supporting students in continuing their education journey and opening doors to new opportunities.”
All 1,000 beneficiaries of this initiative are from rural, low-income families, with many being the first in their families to attend school. The bicycle donation is part of SEIL Energy’s broader CSR agenda, which spans four focus areas: Education, Health, Decarbonisation, and Skill & Entrepreneurship Development. Over the last ten years, the company’s community-driven programmes have touched nearly one million lives.
