Seco Introduces Innovative Tools and Inserts for Enhanced Machining

new launching
Seco has introduced new toolholders, PCBN inserts, round carbide inserts and extra-long solid carbide drills with enhanced versatility and tool life.

Seco, a leading provider of cutting-edge machining solutions, has unveiled a range of innovative tools and inserts to address various machining challenges and enhance productivity. These new products include tool holders, PCBN inserts, round carbide inserts, and extra-long solid carbide drills, all designed to offer improved versatility and extended tool life across a range of applications, from general ISO turning to high-volume hard turning and deep hole drilling.

One addition is the X-tra Long Solid Carbide Drills, designed for drilling holes at depths ranging from 40xD to 60xD. These drills are engineered to deliver more than 15% greater tool life than other extra-long solid carbide drills. They excel in machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, Inconel®, titanium, and hardened steel on standard machining centers. Unique tool geometry and coatings minimize wear and maintain specified drilling depth even after reconditioning cycles.

Seco has also introduced two new PCBN (polycrystalline cubic boron nitride) insert grades, CH1050 and CH2581, designed to enhance process stability and productivity in high-volume production settings, such as automotive component manufacturing. CH1050 is optimized for finishing, while CH2581 is ideal for semi-interrupted cuts, offering extended tool life and reduced cost per part.

Seco introduced the MF2 chip breaker on RCMT/RCGT round, positive-style ISO-turning carbide inserts for improved chip control during turning operations. These inserts provide versatile and reliable performance in a wide range of turning operations, from roughing to finish turning, across various materials.

In the realm of tool holders, Seco’s Seco-Capto MTM JETI Toolholders offer better surface finishes for general ISO turning applications. They feature a unique 3D-printed coolant clamp that delivers high-pressure cutting fluid directly to the cutting edge, resulting in improved machining results, reduced vibration, and enhanced tool life.

These innovative solutions reflect Seco‘s commitment to providing cutting-edge tools that help manufacturers overcome challenges and achieve better results more efficiently. Mia Bökmark, Vice President of Product Offer and Innovation at Seco, emphasized the company’s dedication to leveraging its 80 years of toolmaking experience to address the real challenges machining shops face.

Seco’s latest offerings are set to empower manufacturers with tools that enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve machining outcomes across a wide range of applications and materials.
