SECI Partners with H2Global Stiftung to Boost Green Hydrogen Initiatives

The Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI), operating under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with H2Global Stiftung. This agreement seeks to establish a collaborative platform for promoting green hydrogen initiatives. The focus is on fostering knowledge exchange regarding market-based mechanisms and strengthening ties between India and hydrogen-importing nations, advancing the global green hydrogen economy.

The MoU was formalized on November 19, 2024, by Shri Sanjay Sharma, Director (Solar) of SECI, and Dr Susana Moreira, Executive Director of H2Global. Key dignitaries present included Mr Timo Bollerhey, CEO of HintCo; Mr Markus Exenberger, Executive Director of H2Global Foundation; Shri Prashant Kumar Singh, Secretary of MNRE; Shri Abhay Bhakare, Mission Director of NGHM; Dr Prasad Chapekar, DS at MNRE; and Shri K. R. Jyothi Lal, ACS of Kerala.

This collaboration offers India a platform to explore innovative tendering models, particularly in designing joint tenders aligned with its vision of becoming a global export hub for green hydrogen and its derivatives. It also aims to enhance understanding of international hydrogen market trends, including trade logistics and stakeholder engagement, further propelling India’s green hydrogen ambitions.

H2Global Stiftung is a German foundation committed to advancing the global adoption of green hydrogen and its derivatives as sustainable energy solutions. The organization focuses on creating market-based mechanisms to bridge the gap between hydrogen producers and consumers, fostering international cooperation and accelerating the development of a global green hydrogen economy. By engaging in collaborative initiatives, tendering processes, and policy development, H2Global Stiftung supports countries in transitioning to cleaner energy systems while addressing trade logistics, stakeholder coordination, and infrastructure challenges.
