Schon Doorways, a leading manufacturer in India’s premium aluminium doors and windows segment, has extended its presence to more than 180 cities nationwide, including key urban centers such as Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Visakhapatnam, and Pune. The company has also initiated exports to strategic international markets across Southeast Asia and the Middle East, with initial shipments dispatched to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and Malaysia. This global expansion underscores the company’s commitment to becoming a significant contributor to sustainable construction materials on a worldwide scale.
As India transitions from an import-dependent economy to a manufacturing-driven one, the aluminium doors and windows sector is projected to reach a valuation of USD 1.45 billion by 2029. The growing emphasis on smart, sustainable, and design-focused solutions is driving this demand. Schon Doorways’ expansion aligns with national economic priorities, as the Government of India aims to increase the manufacturing sector’s contribution to GDP from 12% to 23% over the next two decades. According to DPIIT, the manufacturing sector attracted foreign direct investment totaling USD 29.79 billion in the first half of FY2024–25.
The company operates a modern 80,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Bengaluru, capable of producing 25,000 to 30,000 sq. ft. of aluminium systems monthly. Adhering to international environmental standards, 30% of the aluminium used is recycled. The product line complies with global certifications including LEED, IGBC, GRIHA, and BREEAM. Schon Doorways has developed proprietary hardware for magnetic sealing and smart locking and has filed a patent for an innovative corner slider system. Its technological roadmap includes plans for 60% digitization by 2027 through investments in CNC automation, IoT integration, and AI-based quality assurance.
Ajay Balakrishna, Founder and CEO of Schon Doorways, stated: “There is a growing demand for aluminium fenestration solutions that deliver on aesthetics, durability, and environmental performance. Our expansion strategy is designed to meet this demand while positioning Indian engineering as a global benchmark for sustainable and high-performance architecture.”
This international growth initiative reflects the company’s alignment with national programs such as ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, showcasing Indian innovation in global markets. It also supports employment creation in advanced manufacturing sectors focused on automation, sustainability, and design.
