WattBuy, a U.S.-based software company that offers energy insights and electrification tools for residential customers, has been acquired by Schneider Electric. The acquisition is intended to support Schneider Electric’s broader efforts to simplify and accelerate the transition to electric-powered homes.
WattBuy’s existing leadership team will remain in place, with CEO and Co-Founder Naman Trivedi continuing to oversee company operations. The company will collaborate closely with other Schneider Electric subsidiaries, including EnergySage, a platform for solar and battery storage services, and Qmerit, which focuses on home electrification installations such as EV charging.
WattBuy provides customized recommendations on electricity plans, rooftop solar, battery systems, and total energy cost projections using its data-driven platform. The company’s API-based tools are already integrated with platforms like Redfin, Veterans United Home Loans, and Opendoor, with a combined reach of over 100 million consumers.
Jaser Faruq, Senior Vice President of the Prosumer division at Schneider Electric, commented on the acquisition, stating “WattBuy brings strong personalization capabilities that align with our goals of helping homeowners make informed energy decisions. The integration will support a more streamlined process for residential energy upgrades.”
The combination of WattBuy’s digital tools, EnergySage’s marketplace, and Qmerit’s service network creates a unified system that enables homeowners to explore and implement electrification solutions—such as solar installations, battery storage, and electric vehicle charger setups—based on their specific needs and location.
Naman Trivedi, CEO of WattBuy, said “Joining Schneider Electric marks an important step for WattBuy. Working with EnergySage and Qmerit allows us to offer a complete solution for homeowners looking to manage energy use, cut costs, and reduce environmental impact.” This move is part of Schneider Electric’s ongoing focus on residential electrification and decarbonization at the local level, as demand grows for accessible and cost-effective energy solutions.
